Face Masks for the Community
Our members are battling the spread of COVID-19 by making masks and distributing them to members of our community. Many of our members have been working separately to provide materials, sew, and distribute these masks. They are in high demand, and we will be able to provide them to people in desperate need of a facial covering during the pandemic. We hope to slow the spread of COVID-19 by making these masks.

Virtual Rookie Recruitment Camp
For a one week period, we held a virtual camp for new recruiting members into the program. Unlike the other summer camps we have held, we used virtual communication services to interact with one another and prevent the further spread of COVID-19. We focused on all aspects of robotics from FIRST's core values, learning the basics on how to program and CAD a robot, as well as the importance of the engineering notebook. The recruitment camp was a great way to interact with our community and spread our knowledge of robotics.

FLL Junior: Explore, Discover, Challenge
Team 4717 mentors multiple FLL teams, ranging from ages K-8, where we focus on teaching them STEM concepts and having them work on fun and engaging projects and activities. Unfortunately, this year we were not able to meet in an in-person setting. To overcome this, we hold biweekly meetings online and providing each FLL student their own robotics EV3 kit. We also teach leadership, innovate, learn to use their creative side, and engage in using public speaking skills. We were not limited to letting the FLL teams meet for competition judging to showcase their projects. The students are taught to build and program their robots and research their projects. As mentors, we guide the FLL members on their journey in FIRST Robotics and spreading awareness of STEM into the minds of youths community.
