FLL DISCOVER
Every other Tuesday evening, 4717 members host meetings for an FLL Discover team at Hagerty High School. The children from ages 4 to 6 participate in STEM activities and LEGO Robotics for their robot season, Super Powered. They work on building LEGO contraptions to explore where energy comes from and how it is distributed, stored, and used. They learn about types of energy and careers that work with it.

FLL EXPLORE
In our mid-level FLL program, students between 2nd and 4th grade learn about the fundamentals of the engineering process. Students in this program learn how to communicate and work as a team with others while building and programming various projects out of LEGO WeDo parts. While we mentor them, we help them develop their problem-solving skills and encourage them to stretch their creativity further.

FLL CHALLENGE
We have 3 FLL Challenge teams, and in our weekly meetings, kids from each team work together to build and program their robots, research innovative projects to improve the world, and put their knowledge together into presentations to reflect what they have learned throughout the season. As mentors, we strive to teach the teams useful skills including building, programming, and research, while also ensuring that they are able to work independently. We are extremely proud of our Challenge team members, having watched them grow and learn as they have worked together to face challenging problems and situations provided to them.

UCF STEM Day
On March 31st, 2023, our team did a demonstration of our robot at the University of Central Florida during UCF STEM Day. At this event, we provided STEM-related activities for more than 300 students who walked by our booth! We also taught them how to drive FLL Mindstorm Riley Rovers while introducing them to different levels of FIRST and the world of robotics.

Operation Paperback
Volunteering for Operation Paperback provided a way for us to show appreciation to the troops who have done so much for the country. Through this non-profit organization, we were able to send gently-used books that we collected to active duty military members and their families both at home and stationed overseas. During the 2022-2023 season, we collected more than 350 books and shipped packages to around 20 service members and their families. We plan on continuing this partnership to send more books to troops in the near future.
